Terms Of Service

These Terms govern the Rate iOS app and the Flare web app, made by Hit Space LTD ("we", "us"). By using them you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. Rate is a reference tool
Rate estimates earnings under APA guidelines. Calculations are for reference only: verify them before invoicing, and check the published APA guidelines themselves. We are not responsible for calculation errors or for losses from relying on the Application, and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by the APA.
2. Fair use
The Application is for managing your own work, not for building competitors. You must not copy, scrape, reverse-engineer or benchmark it (including the calculation engine) to build or help build a competing product. Breach means immediate termination without refund, and we reserve all legal remedies, including damages and injunctive relief.
3. Account and data
You may create an account (email, name, crew grade) and are responsible for keeping it secure. How we handle data is described in the Privacy Policy. You can delete your account in the app’s settings.
4. Subscription
The Application requires a subscription, billed monthly or annually in advance through your Apple ID and auto-renewing until cancelled in your Apple ID settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period; there are no partial refunds. Prices may change for future periods: cancel first if you do not agree.
5. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss of income or other losses arising from use of the Application or reliance on its output, and the Application is provided “as is”. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
6. Flare
Flare connects production users who need emergency crew cover with crew, through the app and flare.rateapp.co.uk. We are an introduction tool only: not an employment agency, not a party to any booking, and not responsible for payment for work.
For crew: alerts require an active subscription. Responding shares your contact card (name, grade, photo, phone, email, diary service, profile links) with the production user who posted that flare. A response signals availability; bookings are agreed directly between you and the production.
For production users: accounts are verified before posting (an APA member email domain, a vouch from an approved production user, or manually by us). Every flare you post commits the shoot to full APA rates; break that commitment and you are permanently banned. Respondents’ details may be used only to crew that flare’s production. We do not guarantee responses, and we may suspend accounts or withdraw Flare at any time.
7. Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use of the Application after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, under the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
